I have that freezing followed by audio only on desktop,web browsing or when I listen a music.not in gaming.In gaming I encountered just sometime a 2-3 second of black screen but ONLY when i ALT-TAB I tested with another video card a 980ti and that card have same issue,but that card don't need hard reset like this furyX because after 3-4 second of buzzing noise is become to normal and can continues my work.Both card have problem? Ran Windows Data Lifeguard Diagnostics, found no issues.Ĭontacted WD support who tried to tell me I can't do gaming on a Blue. Yes they loaded slow, but they never froze consistently like this. Neither the Green 1TB, nor the super old seagate had a freezing issue. I've also had games installed on my super old Seagate. Load times feel 3x faster on Blue, and according to CrystalDiskMark it's 2.5x faster. So needless to say, the performance is way, way better on my Blue.
Keep in mind that before I put my games on the Blue HDD, I had the majority of my games installed on a WD Green 1TB (with the exception of CS:GO and DOTA2, which were on my SSD). I had only used it to stream media, then I moved all of that content off, and installed all of my steam/origin games on it. being stuck in UDMA mode 6 means my SSD maxes out. this motherboard, a P55M-UD4 specs that it supports sata 300 which should be UDMA mode 7. thats when I noticed all drives are stuck in UDMA 6 mode, which is SATA 1 speed not SATA2. Old games from 2009 up to new games 2017 all have the same issue every couple of minutes there is a 1 second freeze. I have a WD Blue 4TB drive that I use for gaming, and just purchased it a couple of months ago.
